MU Peace Corps Fellows Program

Welcome

Peace Corps Fellows

Welcome to the University of Missouri-Columbia Paul D. Coverdell Peace Corps Fellows Program website!

Since 2007, the University of Missouri has awarded fellowships to returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Fellows use their cross-cultural abilities to benefit the MU and Columbia communities at-large, actively engaging them via service-learning projects, volunteer initiatives, and with the breadth and depth of knowledge they bring from their Peace Corps experience.

Peace Corps Fellows have served MU, Columbia, and the state of Missouri, in many capacities, working with programs that address needs such as health and nutrition, the arts, financial literacy, youth development, math and literacy, grant writing, disaster relief, access to foods, and other issues that arise from poverty.

Peace Corp Fellows also connect Missouri to the world. Fellows study at MU, a top tier research institution, after having collectively served in countries from all continents of the globe, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experiences about cultures, societies, and ways of life that are different than ours. In this respect, Peace Corps Fellows provide a vital resource to the MU community, serving as windows to the world by sharing their experiences and insights with members of our Mizzou family, while also contributing to the scholarly efforts of MU that are disseminated worldwide.
