Matt Rysavy

Matt Rysavy (Truman School of Public Affairs) completed his undergraduate studies in sociology at St. Cloud State University (St. Cloud, MN),in 2003. He served two years with the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa, as a natural resource manager.

Kate Fjell

Kate Fjell (Rural Sociology) is originally from Seattle, and went to college in Ohio. Her Peace Corps experience was in Malawi (2001-2004) where she worked in the public health and HIV/AIDS sector. After Peace Corps, she moved to Billings, MT to work as community organizer with a farming and ranching community group. That is when she met Ryan and they were married. She loves Montana, but is looking forward to getting closer to her family who live in the Missouri/Illinois region.

Craig Hutton

Craig Hutton (Geography) is originally from northern New York - up along the St. Lawrence River - and has spent the past five years in Washington, DC, where he worked in programming and training design/management at the Peace Corps headquarters office. He was a volunteer in an animal production project in Ecuador (farm management, integrated organic agriculture, animal husbandry, etc.).

Julie Feeney

Julie Feeney (Social Work) served in the Municipal Development sector in the Republic of Paraguay, from 2001-2003. As a Municipal Volunteer her main project was the building of a community center with the youth group of San Felipe. Other projects included conducting workshops about budget transparency, anti-parasite strategies, project management and civic education. Julie is originally from Boston, MA and holds her family members as role models.

Nick Spina

Nick Spina (Political Science) graduated with a dual degree in economics and political science from Michigan State University in 2004. He served as a Community and Business Development Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia from 2004-2006. As a Volunteer, Nick trained local organizations in project management and also implemented a youth leadership and health camp. Following the Peace Corps he worked at the University of San Francisco. His research interests include comparative politics of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union and American government.
